		<description><![CDATA[Like this post and indeed this blog. The thing that really concerns me is just the amount of money that gets sucked out of the system by these mad advances and just what effect that has on the ability of smaller publishers to get their books noticed.

I worked out some of the (very very!) rough econmics of it and it some of these advances never made sense let alone in teh context of the actual numbers generated for the Blunkett and Ashley Cole books (as just two examples).

I guess if a company has forked out for what it considers to be a good thing, it will put its back into making that good thing happen.
